Adverts

For making the album cover, we chose to split into two groups and create different ones. The two groups were Emily and Vicky and Kate and Jess.

The advert was created on the program Photo Shop. Firstly, we changed the photograph to become de-saturated (black and white) and played around with the brightness and contrast to create a bold effect onto the image. Then we added a blue shape background from the internet on the photograph and changed the capacity so that the shapes are slightly faded. This created more colour onto the advert. To create a more realistic effect onto the advert, we decided to add short quotes from reviews, this gives the audience more of a reason to buy and download the album. 

Kate and Jess's

This is the finished magazine advert that we came up with, we decided to stick with the simple colours of black, white and red to fit with the album cover.  We first of all got the shot of our featured artist and played around with the colours on Photoshop, we decided to put it into black and white to link with the black and white scenes in our music video and also because I think it looks more effective.

We decided that i wanted to do something else on the page to make it look more effective so I chose to put text round the image. This was quite a tricky thing to do and took a while to work out but I think that it looks really effective, with the red text also linking to the rest of the page. The text that is around him is the lyrics from the song that we have used for the music video 'Wednesday Night' which is also the name of the album. I think this ties everything in together nicely and works really well.

We all split up for the album covers and decided to make a different cover each. We all decided to edit the photographs to black and white to link in with the music video flash backs which made them all fit very well together.
