The artist and song we have chosen belongs to a small record company named ‘Kerbstone Records’, this very small company helps organise big and small gigs and for the artist to support bigger acts over time. This helps the artist to promote himself by making CD’s of his songs to sell for a small amount, this will help more people listen to his music and get people to spread the word.

Also the artist we chose has a MySpace music account which will also promote him to the public and help create more and more fans when people spread the word.

‘Kerbstone Records’ is a very small Indie label and does have all the typical traits of this type of label, it is a small company and includes acoustic and alternative artists and groups. It was set up by young men studying music at university and grew from there, the label is also Manchester based which fits in with the genre and theme of the music we have chosen.

In our group of four we have chosen the American band ‘City and Colour’ for our similar product to examine because the songs and the style of the band are very similar to our chosen artist. Even though this certain band are a lot more well known we can still link our artist to them.
