Feedback for Emily Haworth

Emily Haworth

Some good stuff here Emily but the presentation needs work. It must not be just an essay on the blog – this is essentially what you’ve produced though! It needs to be interactive. Use subheadings and bullet points rather than full sentences. You could create a director’s commentary either as piece to camera or as voice over on video to discuss your use of genre conventions across the texts. Compare your video and ancillaries to real media products to show how you’ve used and challenged the conventions – embed videos and annotate print material to show direct comparisons. Good use of quotes and audience feedback. Instead of just writing about conventions expected perhaps you could do a spider diagram or something similar? Annotate your own covers etc. Ensue you discuss all products not just a couple!
Branding – apply theory to discuss conventions – see packs! Again try to discuss visually and then analyse all your products to discuss how they are all connected visually and thematically. Annotate the logo to analyse the connotations created. Include logos and website for institution etc.
Good use of theories and powerpoint to show audience feedback but you need to discuss what you’ve found – were your products successful? Again all this section needs to be more interactive rather than dense text.
Don’t forget to embed the audience feedback video – we did this to make the evaluation more interactive!
Technologies and conclusion – again needs presenting in more creative, visual and interactive way! See guidance notes on moodle. Tables of strengths and weaknesses, screen grabs of applications and detailed discussion of tools used through annotated texts would be most effective here.
